Blaine Christian Church (Disciples of Christ)

Mission of Blaine Christian Church: Our purpose is to live and share the love of God
as revealed in Jesus Christ through the guidance of the Holy Spirit. Together, we seek to
learn, teach, hear, minister, support, grow and worship as a community of faith. As
Christ’s disciple, we accept the call to reach out with God’s love to those outside the
church. Thus, as part of the church universal, we intend to serve both the physical and
spiritual needs of our immediate community and the world. To this end we commit
ourselves to witness and serve in the fellowship and traditions of the Christian Church
(Disciples of Christ).
Job Type: Part-time position (15-20 hrs. per week-regular hours 9:00 a.m.-2:00 p.m. on
MWT-can be flexible). No benefits eligible for this position other than vacation days.
 
Church Office Manager – Blaine Christian Church has an immediate opening for a
church office manager. The office manager is responsible for running the church office
and directly reports to the Lead Pastor.  Primary duties include:
Secretarial duties include but not limited to (all duties must fall within the policies and
procedures as approved by the Executive Board):
 Serves as our church’s receptionist to greet people in person or on the phone
 Weekly publication of bulletin
 Monthly publication of newsletter
 Monthly mailing of reminders/information to volunteers
 Quarterly publication of Board Reports
 Answer phones and check answering machine
 Check mail daily
 Check e-mail daily
 Update and maintain church website/Facebook
 Upkeep of membership information
 Order all supplies for office; order for church and Sunday school as requested
 Upkeep of official church calendar
 Yearly publication of member phone directory
 Assist with upkeep of Birthday and Anniversary lists
 Coordinate volunteers, if needed to help with office tasks
 Supports pastors, staff and other organizations within the church
 Additional duties named by the pastor
 
Bookkeeper duties include but are not limited to (all duties must fall within the policies
and procedures as approved by the Executive Board):
 All accounts receivable and payable
 Payroll and payroll taxes
 Monthly, quarterly and year end financial statements
 Balance bank statements monthly
 Maintaining past financial records according to law
 Regional and National contributions and reports as needed
 Additional duties added by the Financial Trustee

 Works collaboratively, interacts pleasantly and professionally with members of
congregation and staff
 Ability to operate basic office equipment
 Maintains confidentiality
